Girls Exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (GESTEM)

GESTEM is an exciting event that introduces middle school girls to the wide range of opportunities in potential careers in STEM fields through hands-on workshops and interaction with engineering professionals. RMS hosts 1,000+ girls at the Auraria campus at no cost to the girls to attend.

We invite you become a workshop presenter. The total number of girls that we can host is only limited by the number of workshops we can present. Our most successful workshop are hands-on activities for the girls to exploring engineering ideas. Apply to be a presenter HERE.

To guide students from workshop to workshop, we need over 200 volunteers. This is a wonderful opportunity to interact directly with the students. Register to volunteer HERE.

If you are interested in becoming a financial partner, you can see our prospectus and contribute HERE. As little as $45 helps support one student GESTEM experience, and benefits for partners begin at $1,000.

The Society of Women Engineers Rocky Mountain Section, which covers Colorado and Wyoming, offers a wide range of opportunities to support engineers and leaders through networking, professional development, and the shaping of public policy and to inspire young girls to become engineers through outreach programs and scholarships.

For more information on how you are helping to make a difference, we invite you to visit our website at www.swe-rms.org. You can also find information there on our upcoming events for this year and volunteer opportunities.

If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact SWE RMS at swerms@gmail.com. Thank you again, and we look forward to your support.

Denver Public Schools Launch Internship Summer Session

June 12- July 21

Help young professionals build their college and career portfolios by becoming fully immersed in your industry.

The Denver Public Schools (DPS) Summer Launch Internship Program Makes Learning Real for DPS High School Students.

DPS is seeking new partner companies in the Creative Arts, Technology, Medical and Engineering sectors to participate in the district’s Launch Internship Program this summer.

Since 2014, DPS has collaborated with organizations across Metro Denver to bring engaging work-based learning experiences to high school students studying business, technology, healthcare, engineering and more.
Each summer, around 300 students participate in either in-person, hybrid, or fully-virtual 120-hour paid internships. Most students will have already completed two semesters of coursework aligned with the industry in which they are placed. DPS staff will assist intern supervisors with program planning and intern selection, as well as continue to support the match over the six weeks of the program.

For more information, or to inquire into hosting a student intern, contact careerandcollegesuccess@dpsk12.org.
