July Tech Lunch: Unleashing Imagination on the Blockchain – Laura Masse

There is no shortage of content about blockchain technology.

Yet, creative thinking about its practical application to solve business problems has been overshadowed by a profusion of technical explanations and heavy attention to one specific use case, digital currency.

“Unleashing Imagination on the Blockchain” Shines light on the myriad capabilities, applications and benefits of blockchain technology for enterprises. It frames key questions for business leaders that open paths to unlock the value of the technology. It places the customer at the center of business strategy development. And it focuses on the ultimate end game, leveraging blockchain to prevent disruption and provide competitive advantage.

Ginni Rometty, former CEO IBM, has said blockchain technology “will transform the world. If you understood in 1995 the opportunities and threats that the internet would ultimately present to your company, or industry, what would you have done differently? That is where we are with blockchain today.”

It’s the early days for blockchain. The time is now to ask “what if…?”

Laura Masse is Global Partner at Ogilvy Consulting, focusing on transforming brands into profitable, growth-oriented, multi-platform businesses in the face of digital disruption and relentless change.

With deep experience as a Chief Marketing Officer, Laura competitively positions brands by engineering strategic, leading-edge B2C and B2B market opportunities across digital, mobile and traditional platforms.  She has engineered success for such marquis brands as Intel, IMAX, AMC, Discovery Channel, Hallmark Channel, Disney Consumer Products and Conrad International Hotels. While at AMC she directed its repositioning from the outdated American Movie Classics to the popular, contemporary network that it is today.  She was among the pioneers in the digital space, launching brand extension Discovery Channel Online.  And at Hallmark Channel, she successfully leveraged a legacy brand to launch and build a top ten network in just six years.

Laura has significant and demonstrable success with blockchain technology and is focusing on how it enables new powerful ways for brands to tell their stories, to deepen customer relationships and to amplify relevance.   She leads global brand development for our blockchain technology client, Bitfury.  And she is the award-winning author of “UNBLOCKED: The Power of Blockchain Technology to Establish Trust, Build Brands & Transform Business.”

Laura earned a BA in Political Science magna cum laude from SUNY Albany and has, for the past 10 years, served on the Board of the University’s Rockefeller College for Public Affairs and Policy.

4 Ways Women Can Build Relationships When They Feel Excluded at Work

jul18_27_182392061A male friend of ours recently had a realization. He was walking through the bar at a private golf club, looking for a colleague he was meeting for dinner. The dark-paneled bar was filled with men and they all seemed to know each other. Will wasn’t a member of the club, and he felt a little out of place. When he found his friend and they sat down at a table, he felt more comfortable. Then he looked around and realized that only about five of the 35 people in the large room were women. Even if they were members, these women stood out in this mostly male setting. He could blend in so easily. These women didn’t have that luxury. Click here to read more.
