Don’t forget to join us for our next WOGA Technical Luncheon on Land and Land Administration coming up April 25th! The presentation will include a high-level overview of the land and land administration functions in an oil and gas company. The presentation will touch on how land works with other departments to determine drilling locations, different types of leases and lease terms, lease management, negotiations, title, surface use, spacing vs. pooling, common contracts and partnerships with non-operators. We will also discuss how the fluctuation in oil and gas prices can affect land pricing and current issues and myths facing the oil and gas industry in the State of Colorado.
Meet our presenter, Lisa Hamil: Lisa Hamil, CPL has over 30 years of experience in oil and gas and recently left Encana after 13 years. She is a Co-founder and Partner in Energy360, whose mission is to build consumer energy knowledge and engage them in a critical conversation about the future. Working with a group of energy professionals with diverse backgrounds who have collectively spent decades dealing with the logistical, political and economic issues associated with energy, she wants to help uncover the misinformation around all forms of energy.
She currently teaches the “Life Cycle of Oil and Natural Gas” class through the Global Energy Management Program at the University of Colorado at Denver, is a Board member of the Denver Petroleum Club, AAPL member, DAPL member and is active on the Education and Advocacy committee.
