01 Mar OCTOBER 2021 NEWSLETTER
Hi ladies and Happy October! Fall is finally here, and I hope you enjoy sweater season as much as I do! WOGA and our industry partners have some great events coming up and we’d love for you to join.
Join us for Lean In on Thursday, October 14th with speaker, Technical Professional Coach, Engineer and Energy Industry Leader, Jade Morel where her topic will be Describe Your Work: How to Self-Promote Without Sounding Slimy.
Being able to describe your work is a crucial component to a successful career trajectory. I wish I’d learned this lesson earlier in my career, but you can learn from my mistakes. I’ll share practical tips to describing your work in an authentic way that won’t make you (or others) cringe.
While I hold a chemical engineering degree from Penn State and have nearly 20 years of oil and gas industry experience , I’m also a certified health coach (which I realize is an odd combination). I am a wife, a mom of three, a runner, a full time traveler and I am unapologetic in my love of learning all new things.
I help others maneuver through the various stages of working life. Maybe you’re crushing it in your career and ready to make the next move. Maybe you’re a stay-at-home mom who is looking contribute to the family in a new way. Maybe you’re ready to take a huge step back from your career to spend more time with family. Or maybe you’re about to return to work from maternity leave and have some apprehensions about the re-entry process. I have been in ALL of those situations and have built up an arsenal of tools that helped me as well as notes on what absolutely did not work.

WEN Colorado is committed to introducing local high school female students to careers in energy. With the support of our energy community at large, WEN Colorado will announce two Kelly de la Torre Scholarship winners at this year’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon. The 2021 luncheon will also feature keynote speaker, Tisha Schuller, founder of Adamantine Energy. The disruptions of 2020 upended our lives and created unprecedented risks for individuals, companies, and the energy industry. But they also created an opening for leaders to seize the future. During the program, Tisha will address three pivotal moments in her professional life that allowed her to move away from being disrupted and instead, becoming a disruptor in our industry. Learn how you, the game-changing leader, can turn the risks of this moment into a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for leadership. This year’s luncheon will be held at the Four Seasons in Denver and includes lunch for all attendees. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Kelly de la Torre scholarship fund to fuel future education.
