LEAN IN SEPTEMBER 2022- VIRTUAL

.

NEGOTIATION IS EVERYTHING

.

In Part I of this month’s Lean In session, Natalie Levy, the founder of She’s Independent Investments, will be diving into the framework and skills needed to successfully navigate any negotiation.

She’ll break down the negotiation levers for equity and cash compensation packages and also review concepts aimed to get you thinking more strategically around navigating and evaluating which companies and opportunities you’d like to pursue, and when to ask for more within your existing role.

The gender pay gap is real. The equity ownership gap is even worse. Let’s change that.

In Part II, Jamie McKinney will guide us through a hands-on exercise to practice negotiation. The formula for success resides in WHAT and even more importantly, HOW you say it.

Natalie Levy is an engineer turned wall street derivatives trader, investor, and advisor with over a decade of tech operational experience.
She runs She’s Independent Investments, a member-led investment group (predominantly womxn but open to all) with $1.5M of capital that they plan to deploy collectively over the next 12 months.
She experienced investment returns of 5-70X across her entire investment portfolio prior to 2018 including liquidity events through series D and series E financing rounds.
She successfully negotiated compensation package increases at almost every employer she worked with and achieved 40+% YoY increases on behalf of herself and others she coached.
She resides in Boulder, CO with her loving rescue pup Beans and is passionate about gender equity and mental health awareness.

Jamie Dandar McKinney, MBA, is the best-selling author of Speak Up, Sister! The Professional Woman’s Guide to Confidence and Success as well as a certified professional coach for businesswomen, a keynote speaker, and a virtual workshop leader.

She ignites action by sharing key lessons learned while working her way up in heavily male-dominated industries. Recognized by the Denver Business Journal as a Top Woman in Energy, Jamie jokes that her stilettos have steel-toes. Jamie is fully immersed in her company mission to empower women to ditch doubts, speak up, and advance their careers.
